The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
