Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in contact with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
