Chalobah Set to Step in for Marc Guehi in England Selection
The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the 21st duo of brothers to be selected for the national team.
The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the England squad to cover for unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old is set to join the national side for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, but it has not yet been confirmed.
The England team have already booked their place for next summer's tournament.
Chalobah earned his first invitation under England manager Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against the Senegalese team.
In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out from the selection for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and also didn't call him up for the following October fixtures.
Tuchel has been an key presence in Chalobah's progress, having awarded him his Chelsea first appearance in the year 2021.
Chalobah has featured in nearly all fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the group stage of the Champions League.
Guehi suffered a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar last week.
There are set to be further call-ups to the team. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the national team.
