Barça to Host First Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
