In a unexpected collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Material

Players who finish the mission will receive an special katana in addition to several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Update

This patch also brings the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
